Get into Another system and open Mozilla ( This Appliance supports only Mozilla or IE7 only ).

Basic Configuration you have to done . like Storage box name . console ip and domain, gateway details. password for root. this is only needed to intaiate the appliance.

Few Days back we had a Knowledge Transfer session for Our IBM NAS / TSM Setup in Our office. after that we are decided to work with any virtual appliance similar to NAS/SAN in that search i found sun storage box 7000, Hp San (Lefthandworks), Openfiler among that VTL simulator. (Cafio). So I faced serveral problem and solved it accordingly in setting up different appliances.

In NTUTIL directory we can find get_info command this gives all details including hardware and software associated with DP server

this gives full details of dataprotector server.
(like hosts,devices, media pool details and many more options details )

Restoring A session

This command shows devices and its associated host,device type and media pool

Dp works on Port No 5555. We can check whether port is listing or not

use Telnet to find this

Then above display will show you that Data protector inet service is denied the access.

What is the role of USER in Backup

When i logged with a user level in DP server system and tried to open cell manager.
The below error message is appeared due i didnot added this user in admin/operator group.

The backup owner is different

If your backups are configured to run as private, the user starting the
backup is the owner of the data. For example, if user A performs a fullbackup and user B tries to start an incremental backup, the incrementalbackup will be performed as a full backup. This is because the data foruser A is private and cannot be used as a base for user B’s incrementalbackup. The same problem occurs if user A performs a full backup, then user B performs an object copy session, and the original is exported or overwritten. User A cannot perform an incremental backup because the full backup (the copy) now belongs to user B.
Action
Configure backup ownership in the advanced backup specification options. The backup owner should be in the Admin user group. This willmake this user the owner of all backups based on this backup
specification, regardless of who actually starts the backup session.

Now I got One More Problem in this play IPC ERROR generally this message stand for NETWORK Connectivity Problem.
This problem i faced when i am trying to add XP clinet to DP Server. I am able to authenticate & Ping but it is unable to Install CLIENT. what would be the problem. my be DNS Resolve. I am trying to resolve the issue adding host entry at Client side( XP system ). Hope It Can Resolve......
