Working with Networker 7.6

From the last week i am learning net worker as i got some free time now. It is very funny and looking little complex administration. in my first working day with net worker i felt data protector is more user friendly and easy to administration.

I will put some of my experiences .

For installation files i downloaded form EMC site where i registered my mail id after that i got download link from EMC .

Downloaded and installed which can work for all this month.

HP Data Protector : Mount request for Media from other pool,

I don't know where the bug in IDB but in some cases i found 2 extreme behaviours in Data protector.
1. Mount request raised for media which belongs to other pool, even we have enough Media in Expired pool
observations and resolution: This Problem occured in VTL which is having deduplication. so we can't format the slot but we resolved this by making tape protection none ( Allocation order changed to Media) and backup restarted problem resolved.

2. This is a also silly problem we have enough expired tapes (Freepool) in Expired pool. due to firmware(?) problem tape library recognised cleaning tape as UNKOWN Media, when ever backup starts backup going for cleaning tape and it is hanging.
Resolution : Temporerly we formatted required media into required pool . scheduled backup went fine with out any problem.

dcbf_mediumFile_open] failed to open mbf

[dcbf_mediumFile_open] failed to open mbf [3]: 'D:/OmniBack/db40/dcbf/88eb900a_4c7ca88d_1734_0001_4C825FA2.dat', _write=0, _create=0

Working DCBF and IDB enovrn link,

Hmm, as for admin guide there is no solution we we can directly deal with such error . link between Enovorn and database path varialbes. but i got a clue hope it can resolve the issue.

More i am looking into where we can get some info about OB2_OpenFile: error codes or how it works.
